WHERE ARE THE WILD THINGS?
Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak has to be one of my all time favorite children’s books. The people who know me know exactly why I would enjoy this book so much, and for those of you who don’t well, sorry!
The book is basically about a young kid who dreams, or does he, about going to an island where all these monsters live. They are not scary monsters, although they look scary. If you did not have the pleasure of reading this book when you were small, I blame your parents. If you have kids and have not read them this book, shame on you. If after reading this you have not bought this book or gotten it at the library, you SUCK!
Well now that that is out of the way I am really excited for the movie! I heard about Spike Jones adapting the children’s book about 2 years ago, but nothing else for awhile after that. Now it has a release date of the 16 October 2009, so says IMDB – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0386117/. The photos of the costumes and settings are amazing. It appears that the adaptation to a live action film will be amazing given the few scenes you see in the photos and, THE COSTUMES!
It also seems like someone had been given a few photos and they will be making skate decks out of the characters, http://toysrevil.blogspot.com/2009/01/where-wild-things-are-x-girl.html. I for one will definitely be gettin’ my hands on those, I mean I already have the McFarlene toys, missing 1, that were released a while back and yes the book.
So basically see the movie when it is release and read the book, it will take like 5 minutes and you childhood will instantly be relived.
